Now, to meet these demands, SANYO expands its eneloop line-up with eneloop lite. The new eneloop lite rechargeable battery is ideal for low-to-medium power consumption devices, such as DECT phones and remote controls.

eneloop lite will be available in sizes mignon (AA) and micro (AAA) . Both types have a nominal voltage of 1,2V and a rating capacity of 1000 mAh (mignon) and 600 mAh (micro).

The new eneloop lite has the advantages of the classical eneloop: The rechargeable batteries are pre-charged and therefore ready to use right after being purchased. Because of its low self discharge eneloop lite retains 75% of its initial charge even after 3 years of storage. The differences between eneloop lite and the classical eneloop become visible when comparing capacity and cycle life.

eneloop lite is rechargeable up to 2000 times, which makes it even more economically and environment-friendly. By reducing the amount of materials used, attractive prices have been realized.

The reduced capacity also leads to a faster charging. Compared to the charging time of a eneloop battery size mignon, that of a eneloop lite size mignon is only half.

Further, the eneloop lite has less weight than the eneloop. For example: a eneloop lite size mignon weighs approximately 19g which is about 30%less than a eneloop size mignon (approx. 27g). Lighter batteries are especially convenient for devices that use multiple batteries and when many batteries need to be carried.
